Exhibition project "andersw(oh)er"
Extended until 27 November!
By Katja Pilisi, with artworks by Lukas Ratius
In cooperation with the Saarbrücker gemeinnützige Siedlungsgesellschaft, the director of the Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken, Katharina Ritter, is supervising the curator Katja Pilisi in her Master project at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar (HBKsaar). The project "andersw(oh)er" includes a series of exhibition formats in unoccupied places in the city of Saarbrücken.
The first exhibition of the series has been visible from the outside, since 4 September 2021 and will continue until 27 November 2021 and is on display from the windows of a former doctor’s office at Königsbruch 1 on the Folsterhöhe building in Saarbrücken.
A selection from a series by Saarbrücken photographer Lukas Ratius about the city of Saarbrücken and its inhabitants is shown. The project is accompanied by other interactive elements from the programme and cooperation projects such as a podcast, an interview and workshops. The content of this project by curator Katja Pilisi focuses on the reflection of how artists can position themselves with their own working processes in the local art scene.
"How can local cultural production do justice to real diversity?"
Those who would like to discuss this question and learn more about the curator and her project are cordially invited to the conversation between Katharina Ritter (M.A.) and Katja Pilisi on 24 November at 6 pm at the Stadtgalerie. The discussion will take place as part of the FrauenThemenMonat (Women's Theme Month) "FEM*plus" of the city of Saarbrücken.
