Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken facilitates new forms of collaboration and implements multidisciplinary projects. In the series STADTGALERIE DRAUßEN, the Stadtgalerie is active beyond the city centre with artistic projects in the urban space. We continue to support cultural professionals from the region: this year's selection was made by Justin Hayo.
ALL CONCERTS AT THE WALDBÜHNE:
July 6th, August 3rd, September 7th and October 5th, each at 7 p.m.
The location for this project is meaningful: Located directly on the border to France, the DFG is a place of coming together and stands for the bond with our neighbor. In many of our projects we focus on the Franco-German friendship and the Saarland as a border region.
More about Justin Hayo
Justin Hayo is a musician, founder of Change Network, an association that does anti-racist educational work, and, as of this year, managing director of Komm Kultur Saarlouis. The association offers cultural activities in and around Saarlouis, such as concerts, but also awards an annual prize to cultural workers.

The young duo from Saarland provided the audience on the 7th of September 2023 with a refreshing mixture of jazz, pop and funk, which they conveyed with great enthusiasm and professionalism thanks to their many years of cooperation and friendship.

Due to bad weather, the duo's concert took place on August 3rd, 2023 at the Stadtgalerie. With the voice of Lukas Schüßler and the two acoustic guitars they filled the room with blues, rock, jazz and funk.

The first concert of the series Stadtgalerie Draußen 2023 on July 6th fused genres like pop, soul, jazz, funk and musical. Justin Hayo and Manuel Krass together created a unique world of sounds in which everyone is welcome.

In 2017, Hannah Mevis completed her diploma in sculpture and public art at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar. She has been cooperating with the Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken for quite some time, for example for the Children's Sundays. Hannah Mevis' art and mediation work focuses on the interaction between people and their bodies. The medium is not predetermined, chance is a circumstance that she provokes and words are a means that she likes to use.

Within the framework of the short-term scholarship, the participants drew inspiration from the surroundings of the Franco-German Garden. Together with the artist, they went for a walk through the park and tried to associate their thoughts and words freely, from which a poetic spoken word piece emerged.
