Program of the exhibition Erschöpfung

The exhibition space becomes a space of possibility: artist Hannah Mevis offers workshops and other formats in her exhibition in the KEPOS space.

KEPOS is a space in which, on the one hand, material from research and the artistic process can be found. On the other hand, it is conceived as a space of possibility that can change again and again. 

KEPOS served as an event space for the supporting programme and was named after the garden of the Greek philosopher Epicurus. In his time, Epicurus represented a counterpoint to the "established" ancient philosophers. He opened his school or garden to everyone, regardless of gender, origin or age. Everyone who wanted to communicate and learn from each other was welcome.

Jonathan Kunz liest aus Purpur - Hannah Mevis

A large number of artists took part in the comic marathon, presenting their work and providing insights into the comic scene in Saarbrücken and Leipzig. The readers were: Eva Gräbeldinger, Toni Stakenkötter, Che Go Eun, Manon Scharstein and Jonathan Kunz.

At Eva Gräbeldinger's workshop, participants had the opportunity to immerse themselves in her worlds between sci-fi and fantasy during a live reading and then make a small piece of their own fiction tangible.

bOdy Workshop im Fab:Lab - Jessica Bruni

In cooperation with the Fab:Lab at co:hub66, Hannah Mevis and Tobias Turco offered a workshop on moulding physical sensations in artistic works. Firstly, there was an introduction with clay, then the web app bOdy was introduced. Participants were then able to use it to create their own 3D prints of the avatar from the exhibition in the Fab:Lab.

Workshop Beats Soup Vol.2 - Anaïs Chabeur

Hannah Mevis and Chloé Op de Beeck's workshop combined different senses. Vegetables, fruit, cheese and other ingredients were arranged into compositions for a DJ set. At the same time, the participants were invited to use watercolours to capture images, sounds, smells, colours, stories and dances.

Workshop Tactile Encounter im KEPOS - Anaïs Chabeur

The workshop "Tactile Encounter" by Anaïs Chabeur offered a space for connection through touch, in which we explored a listening form of contact with a stone. This was preceded by a collective reading of an extract from "Our Grateful Dead: Stories of Those Left Behind".

For Children's Sunday, Hannah Mevis and Noé Duboutay organised a workshop on the perception of one's own body and a subsequent party at which the participants were able to celebrate being "different" together.
