An Influencer Will Save the World by Eric Schwarz

The illustrator and comic author Eric Schwarz (*1996, lives and works in Saarbrücken and Paris) presents his book The Path at the Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken. Follow the path and search for an answer for a desirable future in the exhibition An Influencer Will Save the World.

What is a desirable future? And how far can social media be used to initiate real change toward that future? What do we hold on to when the world we know changes? And does the internet connect us more or less?

In 2019, Eric Schwarz completed his diploma studies at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar. During his studies, he spent a year in the comic capital Brussels, where he studied graphic storytelling and discovered his love for comics. In spring 2023, his graphic novel Ein Bisschen Freiheit (eng.: A bit of freedom) will be published by Luftschacht Verlag.

The artist is having his first institutional solo exhibition at the Stadtgalerie. Most of the works were created in the studio of the Artists Association Non-Etoile in Paris. They are unadulterated and go into depth of emotions.

As a place of critical confidence, the City Gallery has been working with various stakeholders to create a more desirable future since April 2021. This includes more sustainable and equitable developments in all areas. With Eric Schwarz, we explore the world of narrative: Which story can save us and our planet?
