Her material is the omnipresent flood of images, both analog and digital. Her tools are scissors and glue. Swiss artist Sabine Hertig (*1982) works in the classic medium of collage, integrating images from conventional print media as well as information from social networks.

They are readable pictorial elements, familiar contents and recognizable motifs, yet it seems impossible to attribute an explanation to her works, to describe them or even to grasp their complexity. Instead, we are drawn into a whirlpool of countless individual images that constantly distract and imprison our gaze. Hertig treats the photographic components of her "Landscapes" in an extremely pictorial manner, either by creating black-and-white compositions with shades of grey or, as in her more recent collages, by creating powerful explosions of colour.
