Suzan Noesen (1985) focuses on the experience of relationships. Our relationship to ourselves, to others and how we shape the world through our experience. For this purpose, the Dutch-Luxembourgish artist and filmmaker is developing new works for the Stadtgalerie.

Revealing personal feelings, thoughts or experiences creates vulnerability. The desire for closeness is often linked to the need for self-protection. In her experimental film, Suzan Noesen tells the visual story of a couple's encounter. She uses a variety of techniques, metaphors and materials to create a space for experiencing sensations and uncertainty. As a visitor, you move through the loop of the dynamics of the two people. Ambiguous moods create atmospheres, or is it the other way round? Intangible themes of inner conflict and social interspaces become visible. The couple are moving around a botanical garden, in a natural environment characterised by scientifically controlled representations of ‘natural’ landscapes.

In search of a desirable future, we explore with Suzan Noesen the connection between human relationships with nature and social relationships.
