heimaten Festival for plural democracy

Decentralized heimaten FESTIVAL FOR PLURAL DEMOCRACY – from September to December 2025 in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. From September 18th to 20th in Saarbrücken.

Germany’s southwestern border region Saarland contains many Heimaten. With the goal of making heimaten visible and tangible as a process and of celebrating it, the Stadtgalerie Saarbrücken has invited a variety of figures. One of these is the German-Korean media artist and designer Hojin Kang, who had created a work of art for the Stadtgalerie. Its installation will be accompanied by a conversation in cooperation with the Bildungswerkstatt Kirchberg, a neighbourhood education center in the district of Saarbrücken-Malstatt. Like the Stadtgalerie, it belongs to the Netzwerk kulturelle Bildung (Network of Cultural Education).
